How long does it take to get my lease car?

Quick contact

Once you have decided on what deal and vehicle suits you best and have completed all the relevant financial checks and associated legal stuff to get to this point, it then all depends on whether you are ordering a stock, pipeline or new build vehicle.

If you have opted for a car showing as in stock, that generally means that it is manufactured and currently in the UK ready to go subject to the standard processes involved in preparing any new car for customer delivery and usually takes no more than 3-4 weeks from when the order is finalised.

Pipeline vehicles are similar in terms of the vehicle is already on order and generally has a planned delivery date to the UK with an estimate on customer handover anywhere from 4 weeks to 3 months depending on what manufacturing stage a particular vehicle is at.

Custom Specification orders where you have selected a particular paint finish or a nonstandard interior for example are custom orders and we are given an estimated date from the manufacturer as to when you should expect to see your new car. Timescales on this can vary for several reasons and you should therefore expect to be waiting anywhere from 3 – 6 months which isn’t a huge amount of time if you have planned appropriately!

When you order a vehicle with us regardless of it’s current ‘status’ we will always be given a due date from the supplier for when the vehicle will be ready to be released and then subsequent delivery dates to you the customer. (Subject to completion of all financial admin and relevant pre delivery inspections).

However, like many things we purchase/order these days all dates are subject to change due to unforeseen manufacturing delays for example which is unavoidable unfortunately. If such circumstances were to occur we will always endeavour to continually update you with the most relevant information available to us as you the customer our one and only concern…

Why does it take so long if it’s in stock?

Regulated lease agreements are subject to a statutory cooling off period, this is usually 14 days, this is a time of which you can charge your mind about the contract.

Your chosen vehicle will have to be inspected before it is released – depending on the time of year this could take a week to happen. The busiest times for taking delivery of a vehicle are March and September when the new number plates are released.

If your finance paperwork isn’t filled out correctly and your ID doesn’t correspond to the information you enter on your agreement then it will hold up the process. Once your delivery date is confirmed you will need to have insurance in place before the vehicle can be delivered. See our current list of stock vehicles here.
